Senior technology leadership, a few days a week.

Code Line is the independent studio of Matheau Dakoske. For more than twenty-five years it has built software that ships and lasts. Today it offers that experience to a small number of companies as fractional engagements.

Why Code Line

Software that outlives its moment.

Apple once approached Code Line to bundle Art Directors Toolkit with every PowerMac and PowerBook/MacBook Pro it sold. The app stayed there for seven years, shipping under a direct Pantone licensing deal held by almost no other independent developer. Art Files, the studio's collect-for-output tool for Adobe Illustrator, ran in production at Starbucks, Mattel, CVS, and L'Oréal. The same standard applies to everything the studio builds now: platforms that run real businesses, through acquisitions, audits, and growth. And the work does not stop at the code. Matheau runs the meetings where decisions get made: investor presentations, stakeholder meetings, and partner negotiations. That has meant audiences of seventy-five to a hundred real estate brokers, and licensing deals negotiated directly with Apple and Pantone.

Built to run a business

A real estate syndication platform designed and built from scratch, serving hundreds of accredited investors across a substantial property pipeline.

Built to survive scrutiny

A zero-downtime PCI compliance migration across a nine-figure commerce operation, with no customer-facing impact.

Built to be handed off

A platform integration architecture delivered through a ~12-person cross-functional team, launched successfully after handoff.

Engagements

A small number of clients, taken seriously.

Engagements run 10 to 20 hours per week, remote, on retainer or fixed scope. The studio takes on a few clients at a time so each gets senior attention throughout.
